ReSEED Program Assessment Workshop Evaluates Startup Ecosystem Development in the Regions

Quezon City — March 8, 2025 — Key stakeholders of the startup ecosystem gathered at the Henry Sy Sr. Innovation Center, Miriam College, Katipunan, Quezon City on March 6–7, 2025 for the ReSEED Program Assessment Workshop. The event aimed at evaluating the recently concluded implementation of the DOST-PCIEERD-funded projects, one of which is hosted by Bicol University entitled, “HEIRIT RESEED: Bicol Consortium for Regional Startup Enablers for Ecosystem Development Convergence and Synergism.” SILI DELI TBI of Bicol University, ADNU-MAGIS TBI of Ateneo de Naga University and ASOG TBI of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges were among the present TBIs from Region V.
The two-day workshop brought together representatives from the seven ReSEED regional consortia, including BICORSE (Region V), SILLAG (Region I), PITBI (Region IV-B), USWAG (Region VIII), HERMOSA (Region IX), SICAD (Region XII), and CARAGA-RISED (Region XIII), who shared key milestones, best practices, and challenges encountered during project implementation. These discussions served as a basis for refining strategies and enhancing collaboration under the ReSEED program.
Dr. Enrico C. Paringit, Executive Director of DOST-PCIEERD, delivered the opening message, while Ms. Russell M. Pili, Chief SRS of DOST-PCIEERD, led several sessions including the leveling-off activity and strategic workshop facilitation. On Day 2, participants engaged in group workshops focused on developing a Consortium Strategic Plan, culminating in presentations of their outputs and discussions on the future direction of ReSEED Track 2.
Bicol University’s role as host of the HEIRIT ReSEED initiative in the Bicol Region highlighted the institution’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regional innovation ecosystems through inclusive and synergistic enabler networks. The assessment workshop served as a platform for stakeholders to align goals, reflect on impacts, and prepare for the next phase of startup ecosystem support in the regions.
