RDMD Hosts Training to Strengthen Gender Integration in Research and Extension

The Research, Development, and Management Division (RDMD) successfully conducted a two-day training titled “Strengthening Gender Awareness in Research and Extension Services” on November 18 and 26, 2025, at Ang Hiraya ni Lina, Sipi, Daraga, Albay. This workshop aimed to capacitate faculty researchers, extension practitioners, and RDE personnel in integrating gender perspectives across the entire research and extension cycle, including related administrative processes.

The activity featured Cristita C. Triunfante, Executive Director of MIDAS Inc. and member of the National Gender and Development Resource Program, as the invited resource speaker, who shared expert insights on gender mainstreaming and the application of Gender and Development (GAD) principles in research and extension initiatives.

A key component of the program was the hands-on workshop, where participants actively evaluated actual project proposals using the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) Checklist. Several research and extension proposals were also presented for review, with participants seeking guidance on how to appropriately attribute and strengthen their projects under the Gender and Development (GAD) framework.

Through this initiative, the University reaffirms its commitment to gender-responsive research and extension and stands in solidarity with the broader movement to promote respect, safety, and empowerment for all women.
