To support the basic education sector this coming school year, the Bicol University Regional Center for Science and Mathematics Education Development, in partnership with the Department of Education – Schools City Division of Legazpi, proudly conducted a Capacity-Building Program in Science & Mathematics for Elementary Teachers with the theme: “Empowering Elementary Teachers: Content-Pedagogy Training in Science and Mathematics”
Date: May 27-31 & June 2-4, 2025
Venue: Bicol University College of Science, Legazpi City
This dynamic training aimed to strengthen the content knowledge and teaching skills of our dedicated elementary teachers in science and mathematics. Participants experienced:
(1) Engaging, low-budget hands-on experiments and classroom activities
(2) Innovative teaching and learning materials for science and math
(3) Collaborative learning with expert facilitators and peers
Teachers were grouped according to their subject handled—Science or Mathematics—and guided by our passionate supervisors, Ma’am Michelle Daniel Losañez (Science) and Sir Charles Asagra (Mathematics).
