EDTalk 2025 – Episode 2 Recap!

Legazpi City, Philippines — March 18, 2025 — The 2025 EDTalk Series on Digital Citizenship continued its mission to foster responsible and informed digital citizens with the successful launch of Episode 2, focusing on the timely topic: “Promoting Online Safety and Security.”

Held virtually, the event brought together students, teachers, and researchers from across the Philippines — including participants from Metro Manila, Romblon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Masbate, and Mindanao — to engage in a dynamic and relevant discussion on cybersecurity and digital ethics.

The session featured Dr. Christian Y. Sy, Associate Dean of the Bicol University College of Science, as the resource speaker. Dr. Sy delivered an in-depth presentation on the importance of protecting personal data, recognizing and responding to cyber threats, and fostering ethical behavior in digital spaces. His talk underscored the vital role education plays in building a safer and more secure online environment.

Moderated by Dr. Rebecca Rosario O. Bercasio, Director of the Bicol University Center for Teaching Excellence, the event also included an interactive open forum. Participants exchanged insights on best practices for cybersecurity, combating misinformation, and nurturing digital responsibility among youth and educators alike.
