CTCED Empowers Faculty Researchers through Technology Scooping Caravan

Legazpi City, Philippines – March 26, 2025 — The Bicol University Center for Technology Commercialization and Enterprise Development (CTCED), in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development and Extension (OVPRDE) divisions and centers, successfully held its Technology Scooping Caravan on March 12 and 26, 2025.

The two-day event served as a dynamic platform to orient and empower faculty researchers on Bicol University’s Intellectual Property (IP) and technology commercialization pathways. With the goal of translating research into real-world innovations, the caravan highlighted the critical role of technology transfer in strengthening the university’s research impact and innovation readiness.

Participants were given comprehensive insights into identifying potential intellectual property, navigating protection mechanisms, and exploring avenues for commercialization and industry collaboration. Through interactive sessions and discussions, faculty members were encouraged to align their research outputs with market-driven solutions that can contribute to regional and national development.

The Technology Scooping Caravan marks a significant step forward in cultivating a culture of innovation within the university, ensuring that scientific discoveries and creative works are transformed into viable technologies and enterprises that benefit the community.
