BURCFSQA Empowers Legazpi City Science High School’s Chemistry Olympiad Success

 In a remarkable display of scientific prowess, students from Legazpi City Science High School (LCSHS) secured a Bronze medal in the prestigious National Chemistry Olympiad 2025. A significant contributor to their success was the invaluable assistance provided by the Bicol University Regional Center for Food Safety and Quality Assurance (BURCFSQA).

Under the expert guidance of their head coach, Sir Franklin Margallo, and with the collective brilliance of students Miguel Javier M. Luna, Julius B. Cruel, and Anne Dee M. Murillo, the LCSHS team demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill. Recognizing the rigorous demands of the Chemistry Olympiad, particularly the practical laboratory component, BURCFSQA extended a helping hand to these aspiring young scientists. The training sessions at BURCFSQA were expertly headed by the dedicated technical staff, Mr. Jason Esquivel, alongside enthusiastic OJT (On-the-Job Training) BS Chemistry Students. These included accurate titrations, precise measurements, safe handling of chemicals, chromatography, and effective experimental design.
