BU and YMCA Sao Hin, Thailand seal bilateral partnership

Bicol University (BU) officially welcomed delegates from the YMCA Northern Development Foundation Sao Hin, Thailand through a partnership meeting and bilateral agreement signing, April 22, 2025 at Sili Deli, Student Union Center Building, BU West Campus.

The Thai delegation, composed of Ms. Pacharin Aviphan (Director), Mr. Narupacha Muang-in (Assistant Director), and Ms. Sipiran Prawatsomboom (Manager) of Sao Hin YMCA, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Lany L. Maceda, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (RDE), along with Dr. Elmer A. Lorenzana, RDMD Director, Dr. Marcia Corazon P. Rico and Dr. Rowena F. Zoilo, Director and Associate Director of the Extension Management Division.

Also in attendance were YMCA Albay counterparts, including Engr. Joseph B. Esplana, President of YMCA Albay, and Ms. Ianne Christine J. Aquino, Secretary General.

The signing of the bilateral agreement was also witnessed by Prof. Evangeline D. Honrado, OIC Director of BU International Relations Office.

The agreement marks the beginning of collaborative efforts in academic exchange, youth development, and community engagement between BU and Sao Hin YMCA.

This partnership is also an effort of Bicol University for its ongoing commitment to internationalization and fostering regional ties across Southeast Asia.
