The Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (OVPRDE) conducted the 38th Bicol University (BU) In-House Review of Completed Research, Development, and & Extension (RD&E) Undertakings through an online program and simultaneous parallel sessions on October 6, 2025 via Zoom Conference.
A total of 144 studies from various colleges and units of the university were presented, comprised of 109 entries under the research category and 35 under the development category.
Bannering the theme โTransforming Ideas into Impact: RD&E Contributions to the SDGsโ the event featured the completed research and extension projects of BU personnel from 2023-2025. These projects were categorized under the five newly-approved RDE agenda: Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR); Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technologies (IEET); Health and Health Systems Management (HHSM); Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CCA-DRRM); and Inclusive Education and Lifelong Learning (IELL), which had seven sub-agendas.
Meanwhile, the top researchers of the university were awarded and recognized during the ceremony for their outstanding research studies this October 16, 2025 at the BFD Legazpi City. The awarding ceremony opened with a welcome message from Dr. Lany L. Maceda, Vice President for RDE.
In Macedaโs welcome remarks, she emphasized that the annual In-House Review is not merely a ceremonial event but a celebration of intellectual rigor, collaboration, and societal impact through research studies.
