Researchers from Bicol University gathered for the second batch inception meeting via Zoom on August 13, 2025, facilitated by the Bicol University Research and Development Management Division (RDMD) and Center for Policy Studies and Development (CPSD).

The inception meeting marked the commencement of the Bicol Regional Alliance Capacity Enhancement (BRACE) for Impact research program, which is composed of 38 faculty researchers who will assess the impact of extension projects from Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), and the Department of Education Region V.

Dr. Mary Joy P. Canon, Head of the RDMD Monitoring Department, initiated discussions on the implementation of monitoring for ongoing research undertakings, including the researchers’ duties and the required reports. Prof. Jhunell Regala then presented the list of researchers, followed by Ms. Fritzie M. Llorca, who discussed the preparation of the Work and Financial Plan (WFP) and procurement matters.

Following the inception meeting, a dedicated session for the BRACE for Impact program was led by Engr. John Raymond B. Barajas. He introduced the Research Assistants (RAs), outlined the researchers’ duties and responsibilities, and presented key deliverables, including quarterly to terminal reports as well as the Work and Financial Plan (WFP). The session concluded in an open forum discussion.
